Eastern Alchemy is a trend led collection of home decoration. The Arthouse design team has been inspired by Far Eastern cultural events, seasonal nature festivals and by nature in its cultural aspects, to reinterpret tradition for the modern home.
The coordinated looks are closely connected to trends in fashion. Particularly, our dark floral Momoka is a showstopper, intensely feminine, fully coordinated with decorative accessories and underpinned by the catwalk trend for dark florals.
Eastern Alchemy is a fashion forward collection full of contrasts; between light and dark, restful and dramatic, masculine and feminine, precision graphics and soft ephemeral florals. The Arthouse team have explored contrasting aspects of Yin and Yang – Yang with its colourful, joyful and vibrant designs and Yin, being more tranquil and calm with organic simplicity, reflecting the serenity of nature. At the heart of the collection is harmony, space and balance, which is underpinned by the trend for natural textures within the contemporary home.
Arthouse designers have also drawn influence from wider Far Eastern culture to reinterpret traditional finish techniques, like pleating, grass cloth and embossed foil. Creating depth with texture is becoming increasingly important in contemporary homes as a compliment to all over pattern.
Traditional Far Eastern finishes like lacquer and foil are also used to enhance art and create show stopping room dividers. We love the catwalk trend for velvet and our soft velvet double-sided floral cushion is a perfect accessory to many of the papers in this new exclusive collection. Arthouse home accessories are the perfect finishing touch, whether you want to match in to create dramatic effect or use bolder designs against plainer papers to create a sophisticated style.
