Why did you become a wallpaper Designer?

When I was graduating from university, my tutor suggested I enter the CAMAC (now called i-dott) wallpaper competition as I had created a range of wallpaper as part of my final project. I wasn’t sure I wanted a career in design, but I actually did really well and won three prizes including a paid work placement at CVW wallcoverings. My wallpaper then went on to be exhibited at the Imago Gallery in Mayfair as part of The London Design Festival 2013 where my work was awarded Best Design as decided by the gallery owners, this gave me the confidence that designing was a realistic career prospect for me.

How long have you been in this profession?

I started my career in 2014 designing interior textiles, including bedding, curtains and cushions for UK high street retailers. I started working for Arthouse only 7 months ago and I’m loving finally designing for wallpaper!

Why should people choose Arthouse for their wallpaper needs?

Arthouse has a great range of designs with something to suit every home. We have a really talented in-house design team and this is evident in our product.

What do you like about creating wallpapers?

Wallpaper design is fun and trend lead, we get to be quite experimental at times as well as covering the more commercial looks.

What is your preferred style?

I like to design geometrics, they can be tricky to perfect sometimes but I love a challenge! I also enjoy spending time hand drawing detailed landscapes or animals.
